National Philanthropy Day - A Message from the President & CEO

Today, on November 15, 2021, the world celebrates National Philanthropy Day and the extraordinary changes that have been brought about by the kindness, generosity, and commitment of many who are so giving of their time and money.

Philanthropy helps build strong communities and offers support to those who may not otherwise be able to access it.

Closer to home, Canadians play an exceptional role in helping those in need, donating an astounding $10.3 billion to charities across the country in 2019 (statista.ca).

As a charitable organization, Strongest Families depends deeply on the generosity of others in expanding our reach to provide much-needed programs for mental health and wellbeing to individuals and families. Founded in 2011, Strongest Families’ goal was to remove access barriers to care so that help was readily available to those in need. Now, 10 years and 50,000 clients later, we are so proud of the impact we have had on children, youth, adults, caregivers/parents and families from coast to coast.  We are always overjoyed to share our successes with every one of our supporters as featured on our page link below.

At Strongest Families, we are beyond grateful to the many donors, volunteers, advocates, partners, and supporters who have given of themselves, their time, and their financial resources to make our world a better place.

On #NationalPhilanthropyDay we are pleased to share a special message from our President & CEO, Dr. Patricia Lingley-Pottie to say thank you to all who have chosen to support our goals, clients and efforts.

So, as we approach #GivingTuesday and the holiday season, if you find yourself asking, “Which charity should we support this year?” please think of Strongest Families. There are many ways to give, and we would be happy to explore them with you – from choosing us to be your charity of choice for 2022 to a one-time donation of money or services, we would be most appreciative.  Learn more about how you can donate today.

We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, and it is your donation that helps to make this work possible.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patricia Lingley Pottie, President & CEO
