The Real Impact Behind Bell Let’s Talk Day

The Real Impact Behind Bell Let’s Talk Day

On Bell Let’s Talk Day Canadians from coast to coast to coast take to their phones and stay connected with one another in the name of mental health. For every call, text, tweet or TikTok using the hashtag #BellLetsTalk, Bell donates 5 cents to mental health initiatives across the country. In previous years your actions have helped Bell Let’s Talk raise millions of dollars for this cause.

As a proud partner of Bell Let’s Talk Day, we want to share with you the impact that Bell Let’s Talk donations have made on our organization.

The Strongest Families Institute (SFI) is an award-winning charity providing virtual, accessible mental health care to Canadians. Our evidence-based, bilingual mental health services are available for children,  youth, adults, and their families when and where they need it the most.

Their Support

Thanks to Bell Let’s Talk funding, we have been able to expand our programming in Atlantic Canada, the Northwest Territories, Manitoba. The generous donations from Bell Let’s Talk have allowed us to increase service availability for those in rural or under-resourced communities while also adapting to the increase in demand of our programming since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to expanding our services, Bell Let’s Talk has also generously supported our efforts to help respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and, most recently, the announcement of our latest innovation – our Strongest Families ‘SFI Companion App’. Our SFI app helps to keep people connected to our program skills whenever they need them, wherever they may be. Whether on the go or in a remote region, our SFI app provides immediate access – at your fingertips. To learn more, visit our LATEST NEWS.

The Impact

The real impact behind Bell Let’s Talk Day is in each person we can help become more confident to cope with their anxiety, depression, behaviour challenges, and other issues impacting their well-being.

By increasing access to care, innovation and pandemic responsiveness, our partnership with Bell Let’s Talk is helping Canadians of all ages lead healthier and happier lives. Last year we helped over 13,000 clients learn valuable coping skills to overcome mental health issues that also help them better manage daily life stressors. Together, our efforts to expand our services to more Canadians have resulted in incredible positive change. We are hearing from many Strongest Families clients, young and old, who complete our programs, that our life-skills have shown life-changing impacts that have improved their mental well-being and quality of life.

Bell Let’s Talk Day

So today, January 26th, as you talk, text, tweet, or create a TikTok video using #BellLet’sTalk, we encourage you to think about the organizations, like the Strongest Families Institute, and our clients who will benefit from your support of the #BellLetsTalk day cause. Your efforts today will help us all fulfill our mission to increase access to quality mental health services and eliminate the stigma around mental health by talking, listening, learning, and supporting each other. We are truly grateful for each action of kindness that helps community organizations such as ours.
