TD Bank Group Supports Strongest Families Institute to Expand Mental Health Care for Neurodivergent Families

Halifax, NS – September 22, 2025 – Strongest Families Institute (SFI) is thrilled to announce a $300,000 donation from the TD Ready Commitment to launch Stronger Together: A Lifeline of Early Mental Health Support for Neurodivergent Families.

This initiative will build on Strongest Families’ evidence-based programs, providing vital support to families caring for children or youth with neurodivergent conditions.  Program enhancements made possible under this funding include content tailoring informed through a co-design process to better reflect lived experience; French translation of SFI’s Parents Empowering Neurodiverse Kids program (ages 3–14) to increase equity of access, and upgrades to SFI’s digital tools to improve accessibility, making it easier for families to access the right help at the right time.

“Too many neurodivergent families face long wait times and barriers to mental health support,” said Dr. Patricia Lingley-Pottie, President & CEO, Strongest Families Institute. “With TD’s generous support, we can remove these barriers by delivering tailored, accessible, and compassionate care directly into the homes of families across Canada.”

Running from 2025 to 2027, the program is expected to reach 1,500 families nationwide. By embedding inclusivity and accessibility into program design and delivery, SFI will ensure that children, youth, and their caregivers have the tools they need to build resilience and thrive.

“Supporting initiatives that help increase access to specialized health tools and services is one way we aspire to contribute to the well-being of the communities we serve,” says Jenn Auld, Vice President, Atlantic Region, TD Canada Trust. “Through the TD Ready Commitment, we’re proud to support organizations like Strongest Families Institute that are developing innovative approaches to help neurodivergent families connect to the care and resources they need.”
